In Colombia, street vendors selling hominy, a type of shelled and nixtamalized corn used to make arepas, would shout this pregón.

Compre el mote, señorita
Para que pueda preparar sus deliciosas arepitas
Si no, su marido la va a dejar
porque no le cocina bien
Buy the hominy, miss
So you can make your delicious little arepas
Otherwise, your husband will leave you
because you don't cook well
