This is a short poem or nursery rhyme recited on Mother's Day. It shares lyrics with a popular merengue "Rosa blanca" which was released 1984;
however, whether the Mother's Day poem is based on the merengue or came before it is not certain.
La rosa cayó en el agua
pero no se deshojó.
Mi madre me quiero mucho
pero más la quiero yo.
The rose fell into the water
but its petals did not fall.
My mother loves me very much
but I love her more.
