This traditional aguinaldo and villancico sung during the Christmas season was written in the 1920s by José Arturo Silvagnoli Nieves, of Ponce, Puerto Rico.
Alegre vengo de la montaña
de mi cabaña; qué alegre estoy
y a mis amigos les traigo flores
de las mejores de mi rosal.
Joyfully I come from the mountain
from my cabin; how happy I am
and I bring my friends flowers
from the best of my rosebush.
