Duarte glorioso, varón ilustre
Tú que supiste jamás orar
Glorious Duarte, illustrious man
who never knew how to pray
Original lyrics:
Sánchez glorioso, varón ilustre
Tú que supiste jamás hollar
los sacros fueros del patriotismo
que levantaron el patrio lar
Glorious Sánchez, illustrious man
who never knew how to trample
the sacred rights of patriotism
that raised the homeland
